The Nigerian Journal of Technical Education (NJTE) supports the dissemination of scholarly knowledge and the widest possible access to published research.

Peer-reviewed articles published online by NJTE are intended to be accessible to readers through the journal website without subscription barriers.

This policy reflects NJTE's commitment to making knowledge in science, technical and vocational education, engineering, applied research, adaptive technology and other fields available to researchers, educators, students, policymakers, administrators and the public.

What Open Access Means

Open-access scholarly publishing provides readers with:

  • Immediate access after publication where applicable.
  • Wider dissemination of research findings.
  • Increased opportunities for scholarly citation and reuse.
  • Opportunities for research to contribute to education, policy, technology and socioeconomic development.

Subject to formal approval by the NJTE Editorial Board, NJTE may publish articles under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

Under CC BY 4.0, users may:

  • Copy articles.
  • Redistribute articles.
  • Share published materials.
  • Adapt published content.
  • Build upon published research.
  • Use material for educational, scholarly or commercial purposes.

The principal requirement is that appropriate credit must be given to the original author(s) and the original publication.

Users must also:

  • Provide an appropriate citation.
  • Provide a link to the licence where possible.
  • Indicate whether modifications have been made.
  • Avoid implying endorsement by the original authors or NJTE.
