ARCHIVING POLICY
Archiving Policy
Ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility and integrity of scholarly content published by the Nigerian Journal of Technical Education.
The Nigerian Journal of Technical Education (NJTE) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, authenticity and integrity of all scholarly content published by the journal.
NJTE recognizes that permanent preservation is an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing. The journal therefore maintains its digital content through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and supports recognized digital preservation mechanisms.
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
NJTE supports participation in the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN), a preservation service designed for journals using Open Journal Systems.
Where enabled, PKP PN provides distributed preservation of eligible journal content and helps ensure that published scholarly materials remain available even if the primary journal website becomes unavailable.
LOCKSS
NJTE supports the principles of the LOCKSS — Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe preservation system.
LOCKSS uses distributed preservation whereby multiple copies of scholarly content may be maintained across participating institutions, reducing the risk of permanent data loss.
CLOCKSS
Where formal participation is established, NJTE may also preserve content through CLOCKSS — Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe.
CLOCKSS provides geographically distributed preservation infrastructure designed to maintain access to scholarly publications over the long term.
Local and Institutional Preservation
- Published articles
- Article metadata
- Issue files
- Journal configuration data
- Supplementary materials where applicable
- Editorial and publication records
DOI Persistence
Where Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are assigned, NJTE will maintain accurate DOI metadata and ensure that DOI records continue to resolve to appropriate article landing pages.
Commitment to Long-Term Preservation
NJTE is committed to maintaining a permanent scholarly record so that research remains accessible to scholars, academics, researchers, students, policymakers, administrators and the wider academic community.
