LICENSE AGREEMENT AND AUTHOR COPYRIGHT

Licence Agreement and Author Copyright

Important: This section adopts an author-retained copyright model and therefore replaces the older NJTE statement that copyright is vested in the Editorial Board. It should only be published after formal editorial approval.

Under the proposed modern copyright policy, copyright in articles published by the Nigerian Journal of Technical Education (NJTE) remains with the author(s).

Authors retain ownership of their intellectual work while granting NJTE the rights necessary to publish, distribute, preserve and identify the official version of record.

CC BY 4.0

Articles may be published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

This licence permits users to:

Share

  • Copy the article.
  • Redistribute the article.
  • Deposit the article in repositories.
  • Share the article electronically or in print.

Adapt

Users may:

  • Transform the work.
  • Build upon the work.
  • Create derivative materials.
  • Combine the research with other scholarly outputs.

Trademark and Institutional Identity

The Creative Commons licence applicable to published articles does not automatically grant permission to reproduce or commercially exploit:

  • NJTE logos
  • NBTE logos
  • Institutional trademarks
  • Official seals
  • Other protected branding

Use of such materials may require separate authorization.

Materials Requiring Permission

Authors are responsible for securing permission to reproduce third-party copyrighted materials, including:

  • Figures
  • Tables
  • Photographs
  • Illustrations
  • Maps
  • Extended quotations
  • Proprietary datasets

Evidence of permission may be requested during editorial processing.

Corrections and Errata

Where a published article requires correction, NJTE may issue:

  • Erratum
  • Corrigendum
  • Formal correction notice

The correction should be permanently linked to the original article.

Retractions

Retracted articles should ordinarily remain part of the scholarly archive for transparency.

The article will be clearly identified as retracted and linked to an appropriate retraction notice explaining the reason for the action.

Agreement to Publication Terms

By submitting a manuscript to NJTE, authors confirm that:

  • They are authorized to submit the work.
  • All listed authors approve the submission.
  • The work is original.
  • The manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration elsewhere.
  • Appropriate permissions have been obtained.
  • Research integrity requirements have been followed.
